He has been playing the guitar since first grade and started out as a DJ 3 years ago playing soulful dance music at every party and in every club that would give him a gig.
Carl Tio found his early classical training on piano somewhat constricting, feeling the pull towards improvisation and soon wanted to do something not just the way it's written down! His style is quickly developing into a boiling fusion of electro & jazz with a strong beat from the soulful 70' era. He works within the mainstream but respects the underground, which is where he seeks inspiration.
Besides his growing DJ schedule Carl Tio has also found time to produce his first single "El Palo". The single will be out in early 2010 with a string of remixes. This debut single will manifest his talent and prove that he is a Producer and DJ that is to be recognized in the future. With domestic and international gigs already planned over the next month, expect to hear a lot more from Carl Tio in 2010.
As a DJ, Carl Emil plays within the genre of house and he is all about starting a party and giving the crowd what they want while at the same time presenting them to new music.

Danish born, but residing in Spain, 16 year-old Carl Tio started playing the piano at the age of 3 and continued his studies in the Suzuki program into his teenage years.
